funnd is a budget tracker that records your spending by reading the payment notifications your bank and wallet apps already send you.
Nothing you record in funnd ever leaves your phone.
funnd has no servers, no accounts and no cloud. It does not have permission to use the internet at all — the app cannot make a network connection even if it wanted to.
What funnd reads
When you grant Notification access, Android allows funnd to see notifications posted on your device. funnd looks only at notifications from a fixed list of banking and wallet apps it knows how to read. From those it extracts:
- the amount,
- the merchant or sender name,
- whether money came in or went out,
- the time it happened.
Notifications from every other app are ignored and never stored.
Where it goes
Straight into a database on your phone, inside funnd's private storage, which other apps cannot read. That is the only copy. It is not uploaded, synced, backed up to the cloud, or shared with anyone — including us.
funnd is also excluded from Android's automatic cloud backup, so your transactions are not copied to your Google Drive.
Locking the app
Because funnd holds no network permission, your records cannot be taken remotely. The realistic risk is someone picking up your unlocked phone. Two optional settings in Profile → Privacy address that:
- Require unlock — your fingerprint, face or phone PIN is needed before funnd will show anything.
- Hide from screenshots — blocks screenshots of funnd and blanks its preview in the app switcher.
Both are off by default; funnd does not turn them on for you.
What funnd does not do
- No account, sign-up, email address or phone number.
- No analytics, tracking, advertising or crash-reporting services.
- No third-party SDKs that receive your data.
- No selling or sharing of data with anyone, for any purpose.
- No location, contacts, camera, microphone or files access.
When data does leave — only when you send it
funnd can produce two files, and both are created only when you ask:
- Export report (PDF) — a spending report for a period you choose.
- Backup file (JSON) — a copy of your transactions and settings, for moving to a new phone.
You choose where each one goes using your phone's own share sheet or file picker. Once you send a file somewhere, it is outside funnd and this policy no longer covers it — treat a backup like a bank statement.
Permissions and why

funnd asks for no other permissions.
Deleting your data
Uninstalling funnd deletes everything it holds. There is nothing held anywhere else, so there is nothing else to delete and no request to make. Individual transactions can be deleted at any time by tapping one and choosing Delete transaction.
Children
funnd is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect anything from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. If funnd ever gained the ability to send data off your device, that would be a significant change and would be described here plainly before it shipped.
